Shabbat:
A Blessing Ordained at Creation
The Shabbat is a gift of unparalleled grace. This day is not merely a point in time but a profound blessing from The Most High, ordained at the very inception of creation. "Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, along with everything in them. On the seventh day God was finished with his work which he had made, so he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. God blessed the seventh day and separated it as holy; because on that day God rested from all his work which he had created, so that it itself could produce." (Genesis 2:1-3, CJB).
The Shabbat emerges as a divine invitation to rest, mirroring The Most High's own rest on the seventh day. It beckons us to pause, to breathe, and to step away from the ceaseless cycle of doing, reminding us that everything around us including the sun and moon follows a rhythm of work and rest. This sacred day is an oasis of rejuvenation, refreshment, renewal, realignment, and rest; a sanctuary in time where we are called to abandon our earthly pursuits and turn our hearts and minds solely towards our Creator, the Source of our existence, and our families.
It is on Shabbat that we are invited to come into Yahuah's presence, to dwell deeply in His words, to meditate on His teachings, and to engage in prayer. These acts of devotion are not just rituals but are avenues through which we connect with the divine, drawing strength, wisdom, and peace from the fountain of living waters. "Come to me, all of you who are struggling and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28, CJB). Shabbat holds the key to this promised rest, offering a spiritual respite that heals and restores our souls.
Moreover, Shabbat stands as a sign between The Most High and His people, a testament to His covenant and a weekly reminder of our sacred relationship with Him. "It is a sign between me and the people of Isra’el forever; for in six days Adonai made heaven and earth, but on the seventh day he stopped working and rested." (Exodus 31:17, CJB). In observing Shabbat, we live out the truth of Yahuah's word, embracing a practice that transcends religious observance to become a living embodiment of faith and commitment to our Creator.
Our Shabbat services are held every Saturday at 11 am BST, offering a space for community, worship, and the shared experience of divine rest. In this sacred time, we come together to offer our thanks, to seek healing, and to be enveloped in the love and peace of Yahuah's presence.
Join us in this blessed observance, as we set apart the Shabbat as a time of divine connection, spiritual renewal, and familial unity. Let us answer the call to rest, to reflect, and to rejoice in the abundant blessings The Most High has bestowed upon us, reaffirming our dedication to walk in His ways and to live out the truth of His word. Shalom!
